A renewed commitment to high standards, structured learning, and bilingual education
Launching for the 2026 academic year
As the new academic year begins, Odyssey Education is rolling out its Maths Plan across all its schools. This comprehensive educational strategy aims to enhance the quality and consistency of mathematics teaching from nursery through to secondary school, equipping every student with solid foundations to understand concepts, reason logically, and solve problems.
Designed by the group’s academic leadership team and informed by research in educational theory, cognitive science, and pedagogy, the new Odyssey Mathematics Charter establishes a shared framework for an ambitious, progressive, and inclusive teaching approach. It is structured around 6 core pedagogical principles, broken down into 16 teaching guidelines, encompassing explicit instruction, problem-solving, skill fluency, verbalisation, and bilingualism.

Academic excellence
An explicit and progressive teaching method that makes reasoning steps clear, places key emphasis on written work, and builds the core fluency needed to master more complex mathematical tasks.
Engagement and confidence
An approach connecting hands-on exploration, visual representation, and abstract thinking to give meaning to concepts. Making mistakes is treated as a natural step in learning, while active reasoning, verbal explanation, and inquiry are encouraged to build pupils' confidence and perseverance.
Bilingual innovation
curriculum enabling pupils to understand, explain, and apply the same mathematical concepts in both French and English. Digital and adaptive tools complement this approach whenever they deliver genuine educational value.
Combining two mathematical cultures
The strength of the Odyssey model relies on combining the French curriculum with the Cambridge pathway, within a bilingual, international environment.
Beyond their specific features, bringing these two traditions together broadens the range of representations, problem scenarios, and strategies offered to students. Rather than simply placing two curricula side by side, our goal is to build bridges between languages and learning methods: understanding a concept in one language, and explaining and applying it in the other.
This integrated approach ensures a deeper grasp of mathematical concepts, enabling pupils to draw upon their knowledge across diverse linguistic and cultural settings.

Rollout underway across our schools
The launch is supported by an increase in timetable hours dedicated to mathematics and CLIL teaching (Content and Language Integrated Learning / DNL in English). Teaching staff across the entire network are receiving continuous professional development through our dedicated platforms, ensuring these high standards are seamlessly delivered on every campus.
