Odyssey Education announces the appointment of Dr Mehdi Lazar
Odyssey Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Mehdi Lazar as Director of Education and Operations, effective 2 February 2026. Based at the group's headquarters in Paris and reporting to the Executive Management, he will be responsible for coordinating the educational strategy and operations of the institutions, working closely with the academic and operational teams across the network.
A track record of excellence in international education
Mehdi Lazar has extensive experience in the field of international education. An inspector for the French Ministry of Education and a doctorate holder from Panthéon-Sorbonne University, he has over fifteen years of experience in managing international schools in the United States. He has served as a school principal in the San Francisco Bay Area and as a project consultant for MLF America. Since 2021, he has been Academic Director at the International School of Boston (ISB), where he has successfully led several structural projects: re-accreditation process, development of continuing education for teachers, implementation of the strategic plan and integration of artificial intelligence in K-12 education.
Expertise in training and educational strategy
He also has extensive experience in training with the AEFE, the MLF and the Institut des hautes études de l’éducation et de la formation (IH2EF). He has developed particular expertise in multilingualism, school evaluation, comparison of education systems and strategic approaches to education.
Publications and academic distinctions
Author of numerous books and articles, his research focuses on global citizenship education, international education and school leadership. Mehdi Lazar is co-editor of the book Speaking the World. Multilingualism and Cultural Fluency in the Professional World, published in 2025 by TBR (New York). He holds an Executive Master's degree in International Business from ESCP, the French Institute of Geopolitics and the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.
